How to Build a Sphere in Minecraft

A Minecraft sphere is a stack of centered circle layers. Build the lower layers in order, cross the widest middle section, and reverse the sequence for the upper half.

Use a layer chart: The Minecraft sphere generator calculates every cross-section from the selected diameter.

Choose odd or even diameter

An odd sphere has one central block and one middle layer. An even sphere centers between blocks and has paired layers around the equator. Both are symmetrical when each chart shares the same vertical axis.

Build the bottom layer

Mark the center of the full footprint before placing the small bottom ring. Keep a temporary vertical pillar through that center so the early layers do not drift.

Follow the layers upward

Change the generator to the next layer and place it one block higher. Outline mode makes a hollow shell; Filled mode includes the complete disk for a solid sphere.

Mirror the top half

After passing the equator, the charts repeat in reverse. Compare the upper layer to its matching lower layer and verify that their edges line up vertically.

Finish and inspect

Remove the temporary center pillar, inspect the silhouette from the cardinal and diagonal directions, and repair any isolated flat section caused by a missed block.
